Commissioned for Mother's Day to reproduce favorite areas of the mother's home in 1:12th–scale. Particularly meaningful items, from favorite cookbooks and pet turtles to beloved family traditions, were also represented.

Miniaturized versions of her hobbies fill the shelves and work top: a sewing machine painted to match her real one, crocheted scarves, handmade ornaments, and even tiny quilted microwave potato-cooker pockets.

Acquiring the photos to miniaturize for the photo wall was a feat in itself, and required some stealth on the part of her children. The custom-made shelf holds a silver crucifix and a handmade miniature Bible with gilt-edged pages.

Mother once dreamed of going to Paris to be a fashion designer. Her love of France is embodied in a tiny French flag and antique illustrated sheet music for La Marseillaise in a gilded frame.

The Kitchen has custom-finished cabinetry, individually laid and grouted floor tile, a red picture-window door, and wallpaper border to match the original room.

Every year the kids send Mother some Georgia peaches in these iconic green Brand Name boxes, and she uses the box to send them back tomatoes from her garden.

The Garden is one of Mother's favorite places, a large space embodied in this condensed miniature version. Home to wild hummingbirds, domesticated turtles, and pet tomato plants.

Even a well-tended garden has some weeds! I purchased this artisan miniature dandelion because it was so freakin' adorable I couldn't resist it.
